Firehouse Solutions was started in 2003 to provide state-of-the-art web services for local fire departments. Today, we service hundreds of public safety websites across the country. Many of our team members enjoy the brotherhood of the fire service through local volunteer fire departments here in St. Mary's County, Maryland

To provide practical and professional solutions to support information management, in-house communications, and public relations efforts for public safety organizations.

Our platform consists of a web server farm using network load balancers, a MySQL database server, and a SmarterMail e-mail server. These servers run as virtual machines in Microsoft Azure Cloud (East US).

Resources are divided into availability zones, which provide redundancy. Azure Cloud makes it easy for our team to manage server resources, such as processing, memory, and disk storage. Disks and databases on all virtual servers are backed up nightly in Microsoft Azure Cloud (West US).

Our server-side code is built using Adobe ColdFusion. A network firewall blocks all traffic to our platform, except through the ports we specifically open. For additional security, our network is shielded with tools that provide protection from SQL injections, denial-of-service (DOS) attacks, malware, and other acts of cybercrime.

We currently serve over 750,000 web pages every day and work diligently to keep our servers secure and lightning fast! Customers enjoy an average response time of 300 milliseconds.
